How I create my videos

I often get asked what software and tools I use to create my videos. So I thought I'd put together an outline of everything I use. I hope you find it helpful!

SKETCHBOOK

Sketchbook is what I use to “write on the blackboard”. Sketchbook lets me write, erase, and change pen color.

BAMBOO

Technically, you can use your mouse to write and draw within Sketchbook, but I’ve tried it and it’s very challenging. A tablet like Bamboo by Wacom makes it infinitely easier to write and draw. It takes a little practice to get used to writing with the pen tablet, but now it’s second nature.

YETI

Having good audio in your videos is so important and good audio makes the viewer’s experience more enjoyable. I use a different audio setup now, but I used the Yeti for years. In my opinion, it delivers really solid audio for a great value, and it plugs directly into your computer via usb, so it’s super easy to use.

SCREENFLOW

Screenflow brings all the other pieces together. It’s the program I use to record my computer screen as I’m working out the problems.
